In these paintings space is taken up by unknown places, which are probably dreamt and desired more than really existing. They are not metaphysical, in de Chirico's style, but they show images of a possible world, maybe already existing in other planets. Blue is the prevailing colour and it is used to give life to dreams and desires. Cairo reworks his thoughts with inventions which strike him and produce a unique suggestion with the possiblity of a renewal. It seems almost unnecessary to state that he is a painter of non-existent landscapes ; his connection to reality is realized by transforming the things he loves, by almost perceiving the taste of colour and the rythm of the sounds. His humanistic culture and his invention always feel the effect of the world that surrounds him and especially of music. He is a complete artist who finds in painting his climax, but who never forgets to find in painting the reflection of all the other forms of art.
